St. Catharines Wigs Specialist Honoured For His Work With Cancer Patients

Carlo was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award. Paul Harris was the founder of the International Rotary Club. The Paul Harris Fellow is a prestigous awarded by Rotary International to recognize individuals who have displayed the following attributes:
  • Service Above Self
  • Contributed to Humanitarian causes
  • Meet high professional and personal standards
Carlo Turavani was recognized by the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore. Carlo was applauded for his drive to establish Wigs for Kids in 1997 as a non-profit organization to help children who have lost their hair as a result of medical circumstances.
On November 21, 2012 Carlo and Tina were awarded the Peacemaker award from the YMCA of Niagara. As part of Peace Week, the YMCA awards Peace Medallions to remarkable individuals or groups who, without any special resources, status, wealth or position, have demonstrated a commitment to building peace within their community or in communities elsewhere in the world. Peace Medallion recipients can be parents, students, community groups, people who have given freely of their time and talent to making local and global communities more peaceful places to live.
